We would like to address the difference between our  LASER Resurfacing YouthPeelTM and all the other  LASER resurfacing peels out there.

We realize that in today’s world you have a lot of choices when it comes to LASER procedures and it can be hard to tell one treatment from the other.   Also we will address why a LASER peel is better than a Chemical Peel.  The last section addresses the much feared Face Lift.

Our clinic often hears comments from our patients that state “They wish they had heard about us first before they spent thousands of dollars on other LASER peels that just didn’t give them the results they were after”.    Some people didn’t receive any education about the procedure and were promised better results than the treatment they received could ever produce.

If you are considering any kind of peel, we have a few suggestions as to the kind of questions you should ask the clinic, along with our own answers to the questions so you will have something to base their answers off of.

 1.   How long has the LASER operator who will work on me been using that LASER to perform the        same peel ?

This is very important.  On any LASER there is about a 2 year learning curve on how to use       the LASER most effectively without harming the patient.   Having an experienced operator is very important  – nobody wants to be the person they learned a valuable lesson on.

We have been performing the YouthPeelTM for about 7 years and we have perfected and trademarked the technique.   Our LASER Nurse has extensive training with the LASERs we use and has perfected the use of each one.   You can    feel confident that you will be benefiting from our vast field of knowledge on how to effectively and safely treat you for maximum results.

 2.  How many treatments of the peel do they perform in a year?

If they only do 40 to 50 of them a year,   steer clear.  They are still learning.

LASER work is all we do, and we perform around 300 YouthPeel’sTM  a year.

3.  Do they have Before and After pictures for you to look at of their actual patients?

You would think that it would be a no brainier when you ask to see before and after pictures that they would show you their actual photos.  However, make sure!  We have caught a few places using our photos online and each LASER sales company does provide clinics with possible before and after pictures of the kinds of results that can be achieved with their new LASER they just bought  (however this is no indication that the technician has the skill to achieve those same results).

We provide actual patient photos online and more extensive photo books in our office for you to see for yourself the difference our treatments make.  We provide apples to apples photos where we ask the person to be in the same pose, no make-up and the same lighting for comparison.

4.  Down time?  Will there be any?

In order to achieve major change you will have some down time.  We like to say,”In order to make an omelet, you have to break some eggs,” there is no way around it.

Down time is part of the YouthPeelTM, usually 1 week with each peel.  I hate to point out a negative, but we have gone to many LASER conferences lately and all the recent buzz was about the newest and latest and greatest peel with a small amount of down time for the patient.  We looked at the before and after pictures provided by the companies that sell the LASERs (these photos were the cream of the crop or the best they had to offer) after careful consideration we decided that our patients would not be happy with the results that were achieved.  The treatment we are referring to is called the Fractional or Fraxel.  What we learned is that each treatment costs way more for the patient ($2000.00 to $3000.00 per peel)  and that on average to get the kind of results that we achieve with one YouthPeelTM you would require at least 10 Fractional treatments.  This would be beneficial to our pocketbook, but not the best option for the patient.   The positive side is that they say it only has at most 2 days of down time per treatment.  Realistically, downtime is directly related to effectiveness, no downtime = no effect.  ie: if something is to good to be true … it probably is.

We also have patients who have gone for extensive IPL or BBL treatments or Photo Rejunivation treatments and were unhappy with the results - while these machines have their place in the LASER peel world they don’t really work for major change but they have no down time.   The IPL or BBL is good at lightening brown spots and for redness of the skin but it really doesn’t work to well on wrinkles and tightening of the skin.   Photo Rejunivation is supposed to tighten the skin and stimulate the natural collagen to begin growing.   Honestly, the difference is very subtle with 6 or more treatments spaced at least a month apart.  We offer the Photo Rejunivation treatments but very few people opt for this treatment because they usually want more fixed than the Photo Rejunivation can handle so they usually ask for the YouthPeelTM.   On average IPL , BBL or Photo Rejunivation will run around $275.00 to $800.00 each treatment depending on where you receive treatment.

The YouthPeelTM has around 1 week on average healing time with each treatment.  If you have to get out of the house you can put makeup on as soon as you’re done peeling usually around the 4th day.   We realize that this is a negative about the YouthPeelTM and may make some of you decide that this is not for you, but we feel being honest about what to expect and how to take care of yourself after treatment is very important.    Over the years we have had former patients come in to do other treatments with us such as LASER Hair Removal. We have asked these patients if they felt the down time was too much for the results they achieved.  The overwhelming answer we receive is “No! You took the time to explain what to expect and that they were prepared and would do it again.”  If you take care of your fresh new skin after the treatments are finished and follow our instructions the results will last for many, many years.   Currently we have patients treated 5 years ago who are coming in for a refresher treatment and they look wonderful!

We have been asked what the difference is between a Chemical Peel and a LASER Peel.

There are 2 very specific differences; one being that with Chemicals you really have no control over precisely how deep they will go and the second reason is Chemical Peels do not incorporate heat.

With the LASER we know exactly how deep or how many microns of skin the LASER is penetrating so your treatment will be even all over your face or deeper in certain areas if needed.  Your treatment can be custom tailored to treat your specific problems.

The LASER also provides heat that stimulates your natural collagen and starts re-growth of this collagen to even out fine lines an wrinkles.   After you’re done with the YouthPeelTM series, you will still be experiencing collagen re-growth for about 6 to 8 months; this is improvement you will be able to see.

Our clinic does extensive follow-ups with all our YouthPeelTM patients and we will ask you to come in for visits where we will provide you with a before and after picture so you can see the difference for yourself.

I hope this information helps you decide if you’re ready to take the next step and get started on a younger more vibrant looking you.  Call to schedule a free consult, we will sit down with you and decide if the YouthPeelTM LASER Resurfacing Treatment is the answer for you.  479-443-9573

Looking For Major Improvement Without A Face Lift?

When it comes to life changing procedures the Face Lift is the ultimate answer for many patients.  We highly recommend H. Daniel Atwood M.D., FACS  at The Plastic Surgery Center of Northwest Arkansas ,right here in Fayetteville , if you’re serious about finding a great experienced conscientious Doctor.

If you have considered going under the knife but you’re not quite ready for that big of a commitment, may we suggest an economical intermediate alternative.

The YouthPeelTM is a trademarked LASER resurfacing, skin improving procedure.  The YouthPeelTM is only performed by our skilled trained LASER Nurse at Arkansas Laser Solutions.  Our plastic surgeon, Dr. H. Daniel Atwood, has recommended this procedure to many patients who want to see a difference in the overall skin appearance and the tightness of their skin and has even benefited from the procedure himself.  A face lift may be where a patient is heading in the long run, but for right now most patients will experience significant changes in the skin that will help in an overall more youthful appearance now.

If you are not quite ready for a face lift yet, but want big improvements, the YouthPeelTM is the perfect choice.  If you have any fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots from sun damage, spider veins, enlarged pores, orange peel textured skin, or mild acne scars you are probably a perfect candidate for this procedure.   The YouthPeelTM will also improve overall skin tone and because we are using LASER to perform this procedure, we have the added benefit of heat to stimulate the collagen production which will make wrinkles less noticeable.

The YouthPeelTM is a series of 3 treatments that are spaced 6 weeks apart.

You will be placing your face in the hands of the most experienced LASER clinic in Northwest Arkansas .  We are the only Fellows with the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery in Northwest Arkansas and we are Arkansas Medical Board Regulation 22 compliant.  Our Laser Nurse has the most up to date training available, and Dr. H. Daniel Atwood is our Medical Director.  Each patient will meet with Dr. Atwood prior to treatment free of charge.

So take a look in the mirror; if the image you see looking back at you could use a little pick me up but you’re not quite ready for a face lift, call us and let’s talk about the LASER Skin Resurfacing  YouthPeelTM.
