Aestheticians and Lasers:

Look towards the end of this document from the Board of Cosmetology under the heading of “Aesthetician”. The underlined area states specifically “a licensed aesthetician may not operate a laser under any circumstance or for any service”. As of 3-10-09, there is no update or change from this decision of the Arkansas Board of Cosmetology that I am aware of.

At Arkansas Laser Solutions, the only person who handles the Lasers happens to also be a Registered Nurse with over 40 years medical experience. Proudly the only Fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery in NWA, of which there are only 3 in the State of Arkansas. Fellow status is the highest level of recognition for ASLMS members, and makes them eligible to assume a leadership role in the Society through elective office.
